WRI has helped countries turn landscape restoration from an ambition into a movement. In Africa, WRI is a managing partner of AFR100, where countries have committed more than 129 million hectares to restoration. In Latin America, WRI helps lead Initiative 20x20, while teams in Brazil, India, Indonesia and elsewhere are adapting our proven restoration approaches to local needs.

Extreme heat is one of the fastest-growing risks facing cities. WRI’s Cool Cities Lab combines global data and local insight to help cities understand where residents face the greatest heat risk — down to individual streets and neighborhoods — and identify solutions that can make a difference.

Reliable electricity can determine whether a hospital or clinic is able to refrigerate vaccines, run diagnostic equipment and keep its doors open at night. Yet in many communities, health facilities still lack the power they need.
The Opportunity
WRI’s five-year, $1.5 billion Campaign for People, Nature and Climate is our most ambitious fundraising effort to date. The campaign is designed to accelerate progress across the systems that shape people’s lives and the planet — food, land and water, energy and cities — while strengthening WRI’s ability to turn ideas into action in the countries and communities where change matters most. Campaign support helps WRI advance proven solutions, develop new approaches, strengthen our global network and respond to opportunities that can unlock lasting change.
Donors can support the campaign through programs and priority geographies, or through flexible enterprise funding that gives WRI the ability to invest where it can have the greatest impact.
